Learn the principle
Each new concept is explained clearly, with attention to how it changes the way you stand and move.
Salsa • Posture • Presence
Move with confidence. Stand with intention. Let Ryan show you how to move your body.
“Dance is a gift from God.”
Born to move
Born in Queens, New York, Ryan is an instinctive dancer with fearless creativity and unmistakable artistic sensibility.
At just 14 years old, he became a fixture in New York City's nightclub scene. Those dance floors shaped his vision of a dancer with style, presence, and poise—and became the beginning of a lifelong relationship with movement.
Ryan's journey started under a disco ball and led to a full scholarship at one of California's leading pre-professional ballet academies. Guided by artistic director Diane Lauridsen, he trained in classical technique while developing the statuesque posture, long lines, and regal body carriage that define his work today.
His rare combination of nightclub instinct and formal ballet education makes Ryan an unforgettable instructor, movement coach, and nightclub etiquette specialist.
The Ryan Smith Method
Back pain, neck tension, and poor posture can be shaped by hundreds of everyday habits. Ryan focuses on nine core principles and teaches them through movement—so your body does not just understand the change, it learns to live in it.
